The Soles of His Shoes

The soles of his shoes,

Worn out, cracked,

By the path he used to walk,

Leaving me alone in the morning.

.

And work is always tiring,

Never giving a chance to play,

And that body of his always bears the pain,

Those soles tell me that.

..

And when our sons grew up and strong,

They’ll leave their mama, their ladies too,

They’ll set out doing a living with a pair of shoes,

That they bought by wearing out the soles of his shoes.

The soles of his shoes,

Worn out, cracked,

Came back in the evening with a smile on his face,

Then he said ‘wife, I love you’,

And I just wanna say ‘I love you too!’

    1. It is from a woman’s perspective. No, I’m wrong. It’s from a loyal and understanding wife’s eyes, hehehe. Anyway, the arts don’t limit our creativity to our gender, hehe, so I’m grabbing the chance.
